On my birthday in 2007, my beautiful chocolate lab was hit by a car and killed. I was heartbroken and distressed. For days I couldn't sleep, and cried all the time. My husband, in an effort to stop the whining, and get me out of bed, went to the local shelter looking for someone to try and fill my Jersey-girl's paws. There were two puppies left from a litter that had been born 8 weeks prior at the shelter. They were polar opposites in looks, one girl and one boy. He couldn't decide, so since he knew someone there they allowed him to come home with the pups so I could make the choice. Now I have two. Bonnie (the white spotted with brindle patches on the eyes) and Clyde (the red) have been life savers. My two little angels.
Life hasn't been easy health wise for them. Since day one they've had one ailment or another ranging from Mange to Luxated patella surgery (Bonnie) to having to have a root canal and crown (Clyde), but fortunately Mommy loves them and wants them to be happy and healthy. Now at Just over 2 years old they seem to finally be healthy, and most importantly happy. They are inseperable and have completed our family.
